In January 2012, in the midst of my senior year of high school, I set foot in Haiti for the very first time. After spending a week at Sonlight Ministries in Port-de-Paix, I knew two things: that I had fallen in love with this place and its people, and that God was calling me to serve there (although I had no idea what that would look like). After many months of prayer, God opened the door for me to return to Sonlight as the First Grade teacher, and I moved to Haiti in February 2013.
In August 2013, I switched to teaching Preschool, and began a music program for 2nd-5th grades. While life in Haiti has many challenges, I know without a doubt that this is the place God has called me to. I fall more in love with this country the longer I am here, and I am so grateful that God allows me to be a part of what He is doing in Port-de-Paix.
